Week 3: Balance Poses
Strengthens and Stretches: Legs, knees, hips, ankles, shoulders, abdomen and back.
How To Do It: Begin in warrior 3 with left foot rooted on the mat and right leg lifted. Place left hand on the mat, directly under left shoulder, and bring right hand to right hip. Flower open the right hip, externally rotating it out so hips are stacked and the right heel points behind you and toes in front of you. Inhale, lift right hand up to the heavens, stacking shoulders on top of one another with palms facing forward. Breath here for 3 full rounds of breath then then repeat on opposite side.
When To Do It: Throughout the day to improve focus and concentration. Incorporate this pose in the middle of your yoga practice after you've warmed up the core.
